One of Jackie's favorite suits, seen on many occasions, this strawberry pink suit was part of Chanel's Fall 1961 collection. The original suit was created using pink wool with contrasting collar and accents in navy. The collar of the original was also quilted. Jackie wore the suit with a navy shell, and often with an additional navy colored scarf around her neck. This version was created using textured linen with silk crepe de chine for the collar and lapels. The striped trim on the 3/4 length sleeves and across the four pockets is very narrow navy satin ribbon. The jacket is lined in the navy silk where necessary, and white sun silky for the balance. I was unable to recreate the gold buttons with navy trim and have used gold beads as a substitute. The A-line skirt is fully lined with sun silky and closes in the back with snaps. Under the jacket is a sleeveless navy silk shell, lined in white sun silky with back snap closure. Completing the ensemble is a navy silk scarf, and a lined pillbox hat to match the suit. **NOTE**: This suit was created to fit the Franklin Mint 15" vinyl Jackie Kennedy doll and is available to be commissioned.
