Lot 03 - Black Version Beaded Silk - Earrings and Purse Included -- $175.00

In 2001, the Kensington Palace exhibited 'Diana, Princess of Wales Dresses and Designs by Catherine Walker'. One of the designs was like the Lot 3 silk beaded halterneck gown auctioned at Christie's New York in June 1997. This is our version of that Catherine Walker design in imported, pre-beaded black silk. It features the same halterneck and pleated, wrapped skirt style, with an asymmetrical dropped waistline. The gown was 99% hand stitched, and lined with black polyester that was pre-rinsed in vinegar to retard staining. The ensemble is completed with black glass beaded earrings and an evening bag of black silk dupioni.
